Electrical Service
Noah and I wanted this show to feel industrially warm. Unfortunately, we only had 12 20A relay circuits that were dedicated for theatrical use, and a handful of regular outlets scattered around the building. Battery banks were brought in to run SFX such as the 4000w low fogger which required two dedicated circuits on its own. As much as we wanted to do the bulk with tungsten, it was unattainable. Many of the warm lamps were 5w LED 2700K imitation lamps, but they did not redshift at low values like true halogen.

DRAFT The venue only provided a couple of rolling staircases, neither of which was tall enough otherwise reach the onstage dead hung electrics, and nowhere near close enough to the 23' "house" to ceiling height. Furthermore, this had a thrust buildout that would not support the weight of any lift. We rented a scissor and boom lift to put the show up and two scissors to pull it down. The boom lift had to fit through two standard double doors and be electrically powered for indoor use. All lift rental was a challenge because Coachella was being built and had rented about every lift in a 200 mile radius. Additionally, this multipurpose space did not have the necessary infrastructure to hand additional pipe or truss for frontlight positions. We used some unistrut to create a single offset frontlight and had to forgo the original wishes of more acting zones on the thrust section.
